steve weisbergCurrently residing in L.A., Steve Weisberg, a graduate of Berklee School of Music, has been leading his Orchestra since 1988 in NYC after the release of his XtraWatt/ECM release produced by mentors Carla Bley and Steve Swallow. Hal Willner, Robert Wilson, and Perla Batalla are among those who have utilized Weisberg as musical director/arranger for their live events. As musical director/arranger, he has worked with artists including Nick Cave, Los Lobos, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Fallon, Victoria Williams, Vic Chestnutt, Stan Ridgeway, Angelique Kidjo, Rufus Wainwright, Todd Rundgren, David Thomas (Pere Ubu), Jackson Browne, Bill Frisell, Jarvis Cocker, Grace Jones, Pete Doherty, Terry Adams, David Byrne, Suzanne Vega, Lou Reed, Peaches, Lori Singer, Lucinda Williams, Andy Kim, Courtney Love, Sharon Jones, The Handsome Family, David Johannson, Petra Haden and Michael Mcdonald.

He has also arranged for recordings with Marianne Faithfull, Sun Ra, Macy Gray, Mary Margret O’Hara, Howard Tate, Johnny Depp, Beth Orton, Angelica Huston, Shane MacGowen, Tim Robbins, Jill Sobule, Will Ferrell, and many more.

 He has also written music for stage (The House of Nancy Dunn) and screen (Runaway Jury, Atlas Shrugged, Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead, Bewitched, Meskada, Step Brothers, The Express, more).
